The hardest sound for most learners. These twisters force your tongue to the teeth again and again for both the voiceless /θ/ (think) and voiced /ð/ (this). Let your tongue tip touch or peek between your teeth.

/θ/ voiceless (think, three) · /ð/ voiced (this, they)

Tips to remember

• Put your tongue tip lightly on your top teeth and blow — do not let it become /t/, /d/, /s/, or /f/.
• Practise the voiced /ð/ on the tiny words: this, that, these, those, they, them.
